1. How to use Dualgen-15 NO PG?

 A: It is a topical solution. It should be applied to the hair loss area using the dropper that comes with the product. Use no more than 1 mL per application.  Dualgen-15 is recommended to apply once daily in the evening in conjunction with a lower strength minoxidil product such as Dualgen-5 or Essengen-5 once daily in the morning. You can wash your hair 3 hours after applying the solution. Or you can leave it overnight and wash your hair the next morning.

2. How soon can I see results?

 A: It usually takes 3 to 6 months to see hair regrowth. Some people may see improvement in as short as 1.5 months. If  you do not see any improvement in 6 months, this product is probably not for you and you should consider stronger solutions such as Dulagen-15 NO PG Plus.

3. Will I have any shedding if I have used regular 5% minoxidil for quite some time?

 A: Most people who switched from regular 5% minoxidil to Dualgen-15 do NOT experience minoxidil shedding. About 20% of such users have initial shedding but recover later because of strong regrowth.

4. I noticed that you have another product called Dualgen-15 With PG. How is it different from this product?

A. We initially only offered Dualgen-15 NO PG.

Later we added Dualgen-15 With PG  in response to the request by our customers.  

These two products have the same effective ingredients (15% minoxidil, 5.0% azelaic acid, 0.8% ABN complex, 0.025% retinol, and 0.001% caffeine) and are equally effective.

The only difference is that DualGen-15 NO PG uses glycerin, whereas DualGen-15 With PG uses propylene glycol (PG) as the delivery vehicle.

The use of glycerin in DualGen-15 NO PG eliminates any scalp irritation caused by propylene glycol that is seen in ~10% users.

However, it also slightly slows down the drying time.

So if you know you are allergic to propylene glycol (PG), it is best to use DualGen-15 NO PG. Otherwise, you should consider DualGen-15 With PG.

5. What is the advantage of Dualgen-15 NO PG over readily available 2% – 5% minoxidil products?

A. Dualgen-15 NO PG has at least 3 advantages:

1. Higher strength of minoxidil means better hair regrowth: Minoxidil displays a dose-dependent effect with higher concentrations, improving the responsiveness and greater regrowth of hair.

The higher the effective dose of minoxidil, the better the result is. That is exactly the reason why 5% minoxidil gave better results than 2% (see below).

2. More skin friendly. This product is free of propylene glycol (PG). PG causes skin irritation among 20% users of the regular 2% and 5% minoxidil products.

3. Tackle hair loss issue by multiple mechanisms: Regular minoxidil products have only minoxidil with nothing else. They lack of azelaic acid (natural DHT blocker), ABN complex (vital hair nutrient), retinol (minoxidil enhancer), caffeine (strong hair growth stimulator).

 

6. Is Dualgen-15 safe?

 A:  Some sellers who offer so-called natural hair regrowth products would tell you minoxidil is full of side effects, thus you should buy their home-made “scientifically” formulated product.

Please be advised that minoxidil is number one hair regrowth product around the world. It is available without prescription in many countries.

Large scale clinical study showed that 5% minoxidil solution has only 1.2 ng/ML of minoxidil in the serum, while minoxidil concentration has to be greater than 20 ng/mL to give systemic effects.

Thus, there is more than a 16-fold safety margin from the use of 5% topical minoxidil, and 5-fold safety margin with the use of a 15.0% topical minoxidil solution.

Nonetheless, it is a minoxidil solution, thus people are recommended to be vigilant about all the possible minoxidil side effects when using this product.

 

7. Can you tell me the solvent composition of your product?

A. The solvent consists of Purified Water, Ethanol, and Glycerin. We can’t give the ratio of the solvents as it is our trade secret.

We have done extensive experiments to optimize the solvent composition to ensure our products have the optimal absorption, usability and effectiveness. 

 

8. Is a glycerin based formula less effective than a propylene glycol based formula with the same minoxidil concentration?

A. No. Both glycerin and propylene glycol are pharmacologically inactive ingredients in the minoxidil products.

They are used in minoxidil solutions as solvent so minoxidil can be in solution form.

In addition, their slow rate of evaporation allows the effective ingredient minoxidil to form a thin film on the scalp for continued absorption.

 

9. Does this product harm healthy hair?

A. Not at all. Although the exact pharmacodynamics of minoxidil is not well understood, the effect of minoxidil is to safely promote growth and to maintain maturity of the hair follicles.

These effects are most observable in hair follicles affected by male pattern baldness (MPB).

 

10. Why is azelaic acid added to the Dualgen-15 solution?

 A: There are two main reasons why  a high strength minoxidil product  is usually compounded with azelaic acid:

1). It has shown in vitro study that azelaic acid is a strong DHT blocker. It reduces the DHT concentration in the scalp to reverse genetic hair loss (male pattern baldness) that is currently believed to be caused by the excessive DHT in the scalp.

2). The other reason that is not so well known to the general public is that it actually helps the absorption of minoxidil. Minoxidil is a base, which likes to grab a proton in a solution and become an ionic molecule. Our skin does not absorb any ionic molecules (a molecule that is positively or negatively charged) very well. When azelaic acid is added, it will form azelaic acid-minoxidil complex, which is a neutral molecule and can be absorbed by our skin or scalp much more efficiently.

11. I have heard high strength minoxidil is not stable. Is your product stable?

 A: The stability of a high strength minoxidil product like 15% minoxidil depends on how it is compounded.

If properly compounded, it has pretty decent stability. We have done stability study. It shows that It is stable for at least 3 years.

Please be advised that all minoxidil products should be stored at room temperature. Crystallization may occur if it is stored in a refrigerator, which is particularly true for high strength minoxidil like the product listed here. We have noticed that crystallization does occur occasionally during the shipping in cold days.

If crystals are formed in a minoxidil solution, you can warm your product bottle in hot water and shake the bottle for a few minutes to dissolve the crystals.
