Essengen-F is a topical finasteride solution without minoxidil, available in three concentrations: 0.2%, 0.025%, and 0.005%. This listing is for the 0.2% concentration.

The 0.2% formulation delivers 2 mg of finasteride per 1 mL of solution (see the test report here).

Each unit contains 2 oz (60 mL), which is approximately a 2-month supply when used once daily.

This product can be diluted using our PG Solvent to create a 0.1% finasteride solution. This allows application of 1 mL per use while still delivering 1 mg of finasteride per application.

Alternatively, you can create a 0.1% topical finasteride solution by mixing one unit of Essengen-F (60 mL) with one unit of PG Solvent or PG-Free Solvent (60 mL). This yields 120 mL of a 0.1% solution (1 mg/mL), which is approximately a 4-month supply with typical use.

For convenience, we recommend using a 4 oz bottle when preparing this mixture.

Q: How long will I see results?

A: It typically takes 3 to 4 months to begin seeing results. In other words, you should notice some improvement after finishing two units.

Consistency is key—daily use is essential for optimal results. We recommend applying the product in the evening, then washing or rinsing your hair in the morning. Shampoo is not required every time; rinsing with water is sufficient.

Q: Will I experience any regression if I switch from finasteride pill to Essengen-F?

A. This is product is perfect for those who are taking finasteride pills and concerned about its side effects. One is not expected to have any regression as a result of switching from finasteride pill to Essengen-F.

Q: Is this product stable? Can I stock more than one year of supply?

A. The product has a shelf life of 3 years when stored at room temperature. It is perfectly fine to purchase one year of supply (3 units) at a time. No need to store in a refrigerator.

Q: Why should I use this Essengen-F instead of finasteride pill?

A. The shorter answer is that Essengen-F works the same as finasteride pill (Propecia as brand name) while less likely to have side effects.
